Hanover Park will soon serve as a site for a Little Free Library after town council members agreed to place it near the park restrooms during a meeting Tuesday afternoon.
Hanover Clerk-treasurer Donna Pettitt said local little library organizers asked if there could be a place in town for the little library to be placed. Council members suggested a space at the park, but agreed to keep it away from a high traffic area where it might be damaged.
The location on the south side of the park restrooms will be easily accessible and has a nearby sidewalk.
The little library – outdoor kiosks containing books for adults and children – allows visitors to select a book to borrow, keep or be exchanged for new donations to the libraries. It’s meant to help promote literacy throughout the county.
