Being a Host Agency
SCSEP participants gain work experience in various community service activities at non-profit and public facilities, including schools, hospitals, day-care centers, and senior centers. The program provides over 40 million community service hours to public and non-profit agencies, allowing them to enhance and provide needed services. Participants work an average of 20 hours a week. This training serves as a bridge to unsubsidized employment opportunities for participants.

Benefits to Host Agency

  • Access Skilled Workers: bring experienced, motivated individuals to your team.

  • Save on Costs: participants receive a stipend, reducing your hiring expenses.

Through these CSA placements, participants gain valuable skills, increase their confidence in reentering the workforce, and earn income while assisting local organizations that provide needed services within their community.

Benefits to Participants

  • Learn new skills

    • Enhance and upgrade your job skills and work experience through “on-the-job” experience, providing community service, and attending training workshops and programs.

  • Earn while you learn and meet new people

    • Earn income during training while getting involved in your community.

  • Gain real work experience

    • Seek unsubsidized employment opportunities outside of the SCSEP program. Unsubsidized employment is a job where you are on the employer’s payroll directly.
